Accessed by air and sea, these magnificent fjords, whose rock walls rise 3,000 feet above the tides, once were filled with ice. Abundant precipitation feeds waterfalls that plunge into Pacific Ocean waters home to orcas, otters, sea lions and seals. Brown bears, moose and wolves roam a landscape that also boasts mineral springs and lava flows.
