Planning a trip? Check out the Point Pinos Lighthouse website.
First lit in 1855 on the scenic Monterey Peninsula shoreline, this is the oldest continually used lighthouse on the West Coast. The brick tower is part of the Cape Cod-style lightkeeper’s house, which also served as a social center where some keepers hosted community members. Visitors tour the structure, and docents are on hand to help them relive the facility’s rich history.
