First lit in 1909 to protect offshore shipping, this complex was built on a picturesque headland that juts out into Pacific Ocean waters rich in marine wildlife. A half-mile trail brings visitors to eight restored buildings, one that serves as a museum and four as vacation rentals. Docents lead occasional scheduled ascents of the lighthouse.
