Planning a trip? Check out the Egg Rock Lighthouse website.
With a name like Egg Rock, this lighthouse completed in 1875 to protect busy marine traffic was bound to be a bit different. Managed by the U.S. Coast Guard at the entrance to Frenchman Bay, the square tower rises from the center of the gabled keeper’s house. The island complex located on a wildlife refuge is not open to the public and observed from a boat or distant viewpoints.
While you're here, don't forget to grab the Bar Harbor stamp.
