It takes little imagination to see how this geologic feature sculpted by the elements got its name. A short out-and- back stroll and a longer loop hiking route offer excellent views of the fragile, often-photographed sandstone structure that is outfitted with many of the elephant essentials, including a massive body, legs and trunk.
