Rising 190 feet in Carson County’s flat Texas Panhandle, this steel landmark was erected in as a deliberate counterpoint to the I-40 strip’s adult-business billboards. It weighs about 2.5 million pounds and is visible from roughly 20 miles away. On its 10-acre campus, life-size sculptures map the 14 Stations of the Cross, as well as scenes like the Last Supper and the empty tomb.
