As Canada’s 40th national park, this mosaic of islands and reefs protects over 15,000 acres in the Strait of Georgia lowlands. Rain-shadow summers sustain rare Garry oak meadows, while seals, otters, and porpoises patrol the Salish coast. Russell Island’s clam garden and the leprosy- colony ruins on D’Arcy Island voice the park’s human story.
