After running out of fuel on a patrol mission in 1942, a torpedo bomber crew spent 34 days adrift in the Pacific aboard this raft. Bound by radio silence and running on hope, they survived on rainwater and occasional fish or birds. They recorded passing days with pencil marks. Their journey ended upon reaching land 900 miles away.
