This park preserves the site of several significant events of early Tennessee history including the Watauga Association of 1772, the Treaty of Sycamore Shoals in 1775, the Siege of Fort Watauga In 1776, and the Muster of the Overmountain Men in 1780. Interpretive programs, living history events, and an award-winning museum bring these stories to life.
