The namesake of a renowned educator, civic leader, and pastor, this park opened in 1938 for the use of Black Americans during segregation. Outdoor recreation spaces include hiking trails, playgrounds, and ball fields. Located in Memphis along the Mississippi Flyway, migrating birds abound in spring and fall. The Chucalissa Indian Village offers a glimpse of a preserved prehistoric community.
