They once were nearly hunted to extinction locally, but today, herds of stately Roosevelt elk are seen grazing in this spectacular Pacific Coast site that is home to some of the world’s tallest trees. Redwoods dwarf visitors exploring the park along scenic roadways, a bike loop and hiking trails. An unpaved road leads to Gold Bluffs Beach and Fern Canyon.
