Founded on the edge of the Black Hills National Forest near Fort Meade, the “City of Riders” is famous for the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally held almost every August since 1938. Thousands ride in for the event and visit the city’s motorcycle museum and hall of fame. Known as the “Key City to the Black Hills,” Sturgis supported miners and soldiers in the once wild and lawless western frontier.
