On November 15, 1805 William Clark wrote the Corps of Discovery was, “in full view of the Ocian,” at Station Camp on the lower Columbia River. The expedition traveled over 4,000 miles in 18 months to arrive at the Pacific Ocean. From here Lewis, Clark and several Corps members explored Cape Disappointment and walked the beaches.
