Moving from Limestone to the banks of Shoal Creek, David Crockett built several industrial operations beginning in 1817. A flood washed away his distillery, gristmill, and powdermill, but a replica gristmill stands in their place today. Over ten miles of hiking trails traverse forest, limestone bluffs, and Crockett Falls. Lake Lindsay is an ideal spot for swimming, fishing, boating, and birding.
