Under commission between 1914 and 1948, this New York-class battleship served in World War I and World War II. Due to upgrades in radar, aviation, and gunnery, including mounted anti-aircraft guns, she was considered the most powerful weapon in the world. Today she’s docked in Houston as a National Historic Landmark and the first American battleship to become a permanent museum.
