This site tells the story of enslaved and free families over 134 years. It evolved from a sugarcane plantation to a cattle ranch, and an oil field through the ownership of the Varners, the Pattons, and the Hoggs. Ongoing archeological work continues to reveal new insights into the daily lives of the enslaved people who lived and labored here.
