The park preserves two magnificent groves of giant sequoias –the world's largest trees. These giants descended from trees that were standing when dinosaurs roamed Earth. An easy 1.7 mile loop trail meanders through the North Grove providing a wonderful journey through a mixed conifer forest. Other highlights include the Stanislaus River, Beaver Creek, and blooming dogwoods.
