The wind that blows through this prairie gorge toward the Little Missouri River helped shape Wind Canyon. One of the park’s more popular hikes is the 0.4-mile walk along the Wind Canyon Trail, a loop highlighted by fine views of the river and a pause at an overlook known for its dramatic badlands scenery and stunning sunsets.
